Something for Every Season...

To live in a valley is to enjoy a private sky.

Swimming, sunning, hiking, biking, fishing, and canoeing in our stocked pond provide hours of recreation and relaxation throughout 32 private acres of meadows and woodlands, surrounded by spectacular mountain views.  Horse-back riding and fly fishing lessons can be arranged in advance.  Countless other off-site activities are available to satisfy a wide range of interests that include antiquing, bird watching, water sliding, glass blowing, outlet shopping and falconry.

 Summer's last, loveliest smile.

This sacred season is the jewel in Vermont's crown.  Immortalized in art and literature for its stained-glass window array of brilliant, luminous color, visitors come from all over the world to witness its splendor.  Craft and antique shows, tag sales and festivals abound.  Carriage rides through the vibrant, colorful countryside are a familiar site, as are hikers, cyclists, shutterbugs, artists, curious leaf peepers, and the hopelessly ardent lovers of autumn.

Currier & Ives with a twist ... it still exists.

While most people prefer to shun winter's chill, some find solace and renewal in the peace and quiet of the outdoors, skiing, snowshoeing and exploring mountain trails and invigorating walks in silent woods. Guests love the beautifully tracked and groomed cross-country trails at nearby Wild Wings, with equipment rentals on site. Superb downhill skiing and snowboarding on Bromley, Stratton, Okemo and Magic Mountain are just 20 minutes away.

You can smell the earth warming!

Though it's the quietest of our four seasons to the untrained eye and ear, the ice is melting, brooks and rivers are rushing, critters are yawning, and Mother Nature is revving up to dazzle us. It's a great season to capture a little down time before the busy summer.  Keep in touch for deeply-discounted mid-week or weekend deals. Many consider us to be one of New England's best-kept romantic secrets!
